A tip from the Joker to get your betting day under way....

The Joker thought he had it tough yesterday. He shouldn't have complained so early - his pool of football matches to bet on has now dwindled to five - but is most grateful to Scandinavia, whose leagues offer a veritable smorgasbord of action tomorrow.

Today, though, he's got pleasure at the Showgrounds on the way as Sligo Rovers challenge Cork City for a place in the fourth round of the FAI Cup. Sligo have the second-worst home record in the Irish Premier League, losing half of their eight matches so far. Meanwhile, Cork City have won four of their most recent six away games.

Sligo Abbey apparently inspired Bram Stoker to write Dracula, and the Joker's not one to miss an open goal like that: Cork City can be a pain in the neck for Sligo this evening.

Slotted coolly home.

Recommendation: Back Cork City @ [2.28] to beat Sligo Rovers
