The Joker's Bet of the Day: Back Over 2.5 Goals at [2.10] in Anderlecht v AEK Athens
A tip from the Joker to get your betting day under way...
On Tuesday night, there was Ben Shephard and Sky. Last night's Champions League action brought a more familiar bogey onto the Joker's radar.
Andy Townsend. You've all seen him. He was co-commentating last night when Gareth Bale broke through Inter Milan's defence and scored Tottenham's first goal. Inter's defence at that point: Maicon, Chivu, Lucio, Samuel. 300 international caps between them and reigning champions of Europe. Andy, who never won any caps for his country (apparently he turned out a bit for the Republic of Ireland though), called them 'so-called superstars'.
You've got high standards, Andy. If only ITV did too. The Joker wouldn't have bothered watching at all if he'd known the Chancellor's cuts included a 30% slashing of Spurs' ability to defend. But maybe the Government is doing the right thing after all - Spurs did do a good job of reducing their deficit in the second half.
The Joker has his own deficit to reduce this week and his first move is going to be backing Over 2.5 Goals in this evening's Europa League match between Anderlecht and AEK Athens. Since 2008, 11/13 of the Belgian club's European home games have gone that way and so have 7/8 AEK away matches in the same period.
Recommendation: Back Over 2.5 Goals at [2.10] in Anderlecht v AEK Athens
