The Joker's Bet of the Day: Back Under 2.5 Goals at [1.8] in Padova v Ascoli
A tip from the Joker to get your betting day under way...
Arles and Clermont tripped the Joker at the last on Friday, producing just a goal between them, but, unlike some of the nags he's backed in the past, he can dust himself down and walk into the sunset - or wherever it is that fallers in horse races go - with head held high. Four out of five isn't bad, after all.
(He thought about making that last sentence something like, 'Four out of five is neigh bad,' but thought better of it at the last moment. He would have to have been Scottish for it to work.)
The big European leagues have all finished for the summer now, but things are still happening just below them. In Serie B, for example, there are still a couple of rounds of the season to go and today sees Ascoli go to Padova to complete the ante-penultimate round.
Everyone knows what happens in Italy when there's one team (Padova) with lots still to play for and another team (Ascoli) with nothing left to play for. That's why relegation-threatened Padova, with one win in 10, are [1.2] to beat their mid-table opponents. But the Joker's most interested in Under 2.5 Goals: it's paid out in 9/10 at the Stadio Euganeo and in 5/8 of Ascoli's away games. And this time, Padova will keep tight, while Ascoli won't try too hard. It all fits.
Recommendation: Back Under 2.5 Goals at [1.8] in Padova v Ascoli
