A painful week for the Joker just gone as he was obliged to mutilate his ear in protest at Arles-Tours going Over 2.5 Goals. The loony bin and suicide - it was all downhill for Van Gogh after he did it, but the Joker has a plan to improve his situation.

It begins with a bet on Belenenses versus Academica in the Portuguese Liga. Belenenses have the worst goalscoring record in Europe, but, like a Frenchman with a keen sense of smell (Cyrano de Bergerac, perhaps?), have located the onion bag in each of their last three home games. They concede a fair bit and 5/9 Liga matches at the Estadio do Restelo this season have produced three goals or more, just like five of Academica's last six away games.

Let's the hope the Joker's ability to sniff out the right bet has just improved too.
