A tip from the Joker to get your betting day under way....
The Friday night game in Argentina pits Argentinos Juniors against Banfield. The Juniors were founded misleadingly as the Martyrs of Chicago, but the club that has produced Maradona, Redondo and Riquelme is now more aptly named. That said, the youth team is still known as the Little Onions.
Maradona was one of the first players to come out of that youth team (a green onion?), and there was of course shallot more to come from him. How different would it have been if Sheffield United had closed a deal to sign him as a 17-year-old? Manager Harry Haslam clearly knew his onions, but tears would surely have been spilt by little Diego if he'd passed up 7,000 Neapolitan women, a super-tanker's worth of cocaine and the eternal love of a city for a spell in West Riding.
The senior Onions are bottom of this year's Clausura, having won only two of nine home matches, but Banfield are not the team to fry them. There have been Over 2.5 Goals in four of the visitors' last six away games, and that's the bet to make at [2.38].
Recommendation: Back Over 2.5 Goals at [2.38] in Argentinos Juniors v Banfield
