Five Reasons to Back
Radek Stepanek to beat Fernando Verdasco @ [2.5]
• Radek Stepanek leads 3-2 in the all important head-to-head series against Fernando Verdasco, including a five set win over the Spaniard at the 2006 Championships, the only time they have met on the grass.
• The Worm, as he's known on tour, has won six of his last seven matches against left-handers, and four of his last five against big servers; against big serving lefties, Stepanek has an impressive 21-4 record.
• Stepanek recently defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets at Eastbourne and also managed to take a set off Rafael Nadal in his third round match at the Queen's club.
• The Czech has an impressive 7-1 positive first round career record at Wimbledon.
• Verdasco's was overwhelmed by Andy Roddick at Queens and outclassed by David Ferrer in straight sets at a recent exhibition match on grass.
2-0 Lay of the day - Lay Flavia Pennetta 2-0 v Irina Begu @ [1.65]
• Pennetta's form has been extremely poor coming into Wimbledon - 3-7 in all matches winning nine sets and losing 15.
• Begu has won four of her last five matches, reaching the Marseille ITF Final a fortnight ago, albeit on clay, and she also reached the final of an international event in Marbella where she eventually lost to Victoria Azarenka.
• Begu has a winning record against higher ranked players winning 60% of her matches; she is at an all time high of 79 in the world rankings and is a young player with plenty of talent to look out for in the near future.
