With Alan Dudman away in America - probably spending his winnings from the Histon Cup win he predicted last week - Andy Richmond steps in to bring you this weekend's best League One bets.
So this week's task to find a tenuous link to a lovely lady to illuminate the column and secondly find some winners from this weekend's League One fixtures.
There is no finer programme on Saturday afternoon than Soccer Saturday fronted by the best and most exuberant presenter in Jeff Stelling - but as good as Jeff is, what could be better than having your team winning 5-0 away from home and the result brought to you by the gorgeous Georgie Thompson from Sky Sports News. Here's four results I'd love to see her reading out this week...
MK Dons [2.28] v Scunthorpe [3.6]
Some thought the appointment of Roberto Di Matteo would create uncertainty in the ranks but MK Dons have made steady progress and the Italian has just won the League One November Manager of the Month award - let's hope that's not a kiss of death here.
Over the last six league games the Dons have an impressive record, netting 15 goals while conceding just three and recording victories in all of those games to leave them second in the table.
Scunthorpe on the other hand, are going into reverse after leading the division early on. They remain sixth in the table but have been on a worrying decline, only picking up seven points out of the last 18. Iron manager Nigel Adkins kept his players locked in the dressing room for a post match inquest after the 2-0 defeat at Tranmere in their last league game - it got better last week with a 4-0 win over non league Alfreton Town in the FA Cup but more will be needed against the Dons.
Recommendation: Back MK Dons at 2.28, Back MK Dons 2-0 and 2-1
Stockport [2.78] v Peterborough [2.78]
Current form is something I set great store by in any form of punting and two of League One's form horses go head to head here at Edgeley Park - and I think the Posh can get something from this game.
Peterborough have not lost league match since the end of August and ambitious boss Darren Ferguson has them nicely positioned for one of the automatic promotion places. With a solid defence and some very vibrant forwards in George Boyd, Aaron McLean and Craig Mackail-Smith they have the ideal mix to get something from this clash.
It won't be easy as Stockport have been in equally good recent form but they can be a little fragile at home and are not among the division's prolific scorers.
Recommendations: Lay Stockport at [2.78] and back The Posh 2-0 and 2-1
Northampton [2.36] v Leyton Orient [3.3]
Orient manager Martin Ling is being touted for the vacant Swindon Town job but the way that the "O's" are going recently he would be mad to leave. A poor start to the season left the side from East London in the relegation zone but their recent form, especially away from home, has seen them heading in an upward direction - based on a very solid defence.
That defence will be strengthened at the weekend by the on-loan signing of Jordan Spence from West Ham.
Northampton have suffered a couple of home defeats in the league recently and crashed out of the FA Cup in a crushing 5-2 defeat to Leeds.
These two are regular combatants at this level and it's Orient who come here in a more confident manner.
Recommendations: Lay Northampton at [2.36] and back Orient 1-0 or the 1-1 draw
Tranmere [2.86] v Leeds United [2.7]
Embarrassed in the FA Cup last week by Histon, lets hope for more of the same as they travel to Prenton Park to take on Merseyside's third team - Tranmere Rovers.
Tranmere have been playing well recently and manager Ronnie Moore feels that they can push for promotion.
Recommendations : Lay Leeds at 2.7 and back over 2.5 goals.
