Being the psychologist for my local Sunday league team I decided to give the lads a talk prior to a crucial cup game, "You must adapt the approach the French are taught from a young age", I said. I couldn't get to the game but eagerly awaited a phone call from the manager to inform me of the result.

"Our star midfielder was sent-off for head-butting an opponent, our striker is facing a lengthy ban after karate-kicking a supporter, and our captain is still sat in the bloody centre circle!" Tonight's Champions League clash between French outfit Lyon and Spanish giants Barcelona should go without similar incident, but an open game is guaranteed with goals almost certainly on the cards.
