Thomas Schoorel is bound for the big time

"Thomas Schoorel comes into Wednesday's match-up against Swiss No.2 Wawrinka with two consecutive clay court challenger titles under his belt and four straight set wins so far at Roland Garros."

Ben Caudell is looking for a pair of up and coming youngsters to do the business at long odds on the first Wednesday of the French Open

Stanislas Wawrinka (SUI) v Thomas Schoorel (NED)
I have decided to go for a big outside bet on a player I have been following closely since the start of the year. Schoorel, I believe, has the talent to be a world beater.
Not many of you would have heard of the Dutch youngster, who is currently ranked at 108 in the world. This will not be for long however, Schoorel is riding on a crest of a wave at the moment and will no doubt break into the lucrative top 100 upon the conclusion of the French Open.
The 22-year-old left-hander comes into Wednesday's match-up against Swiss No.2 Wawrinka with two consecutive clay court challenger titles under his belt and four straight set wins so far at Roland Garros.
He has strong support from a large contingent of Dutch supporters in Paris and was apparently with more than 500 cheering his defeat of clay courter Maximo Gonzalez in his first round match.
Wawrinka, on the other hand, has looked out-of-sorts on the Parisian Red Brick dust and has been struggling on the surface all year. His poor form could be due to a recent break-up with his long term girlfriend that has seen the former top ten player lose in the first round of Munich and Madrid within the last two months as well as drop a set against unknown qualifier Augustin Gensse in his first round match here in Paris.
With some big names already out at this early stage of the tournament, another one could be eating dirt tomorrow.

Irina Begu (ROU) v Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS)
Another player on the verge of breaking into the top 100 within the next few weeks, Irina Begu, has a great chance of upsetting the odds for the second time this year when she takes on former French Open Champion Kuznetsova. Begu defeated Kuznetsova 3-6 7-6 6-4 at the clay court event in Marbella at the start of April.
Five years younger than her opponent, Begu has a win/lost record this year of 22-5, compared with 17-11 for Kuznetsova. She convincingly put home favourite Aravane Rezai to the sword in her first round match and will definitely fancy her chances against the world No.14 who is hampered by a niggling leg injury. Begu is begging to be backed. Get on...
