Mmmmmmmmonica Bellucci
"We’ve done well with Nicolas Almagro this weekand that run looks set to continue when he faces fellow clay specialist Thomaz Bellucci. The pair have never met so there’s no match-up to go on, but Almagro will surely have the upper hand in terms of big match experience and hard court know-how."
No, that's not Thomaz Bellucci - it's namesake Monica Bellucci - but as Sean Calvert is predicting an exit for the Brazillian tennis player we thought we'd use a pic of the Italian film star instead
Monday was a rain-soaked affair at the Crandon Park Tennis Centre and the miserable outlook transferred itself to our bets as Stan Wawrinka blew numerous chances to take out Mikhail Youzhny.
The more cautious punters had lots of opportunities to lay Stan at around [1.22] when he twice led by a break in the final set, but the Swiss eventually ran out of gas.
Onto today's fourth round matches and we've done well with Nicolas Almagro this week and that run looks set to continue when he faces fellow clay specialist Thomaz Bellucci.
The pair have never met so there's no match-up to go on, but Almagro will surely have the upper hand in terms of big match experience and hard court know-how.
Bellucci is on the upgrade on the red dirt, but unfamiliar with hard courts and has never been past the last 32 in any Masters Series event.
He has also never beaten a player at a Masters event ranked higher than the 46 that Janko Tipsarevic was when Bellucci took him out at Indian Wells last year, whereas Almagro has been there and done it.
At around [1.75] the Spaniard looks a solid wager to reach the quarter finals.
Marin Cilic looks back to his early season form after his recent blip and the Croatian is a strong fancy to overcome the out of form Fernando Verdasco this evening.
Cilic is yet to drop a set in Miami so far and he should have too much firepower for the Spaniard, who still looks to be struggling physically and who had a real battle to get the better of Jurgen Melzer yesterday.
Verdasco leads the head-to-head 3-2, but one of those was an exhibition match and Cilic came out on top the last time they met. Expect the same result again today.
If you're on the lookout for an outsider, you could do worse than try Juan Carlos Ferrero to beat Jo Wilfried Tsonga today.
The Spaniard is on top of his game right now and took out big hitting John Isner yesterday. On these slow courts he has a chance at [3.2] of nullifying Tsonga.
