Talented Frenchman is on a roll at the moment and may eclipse Serbian.
World number four Andy Murray made it three out three wins from the Red group, in the process knocking out four time Masters Cup winner Roger Federer in a dramatic three set thriller that matched over ten million GBP on match odds alone on Betfair.
Although Murray played in what appeared to be a dead rubber, having already qualified for the semi-finals, it turned out that the Scot had an another incentive to win this match. The eventual tournament winner takes home a prize of £416,000, that sum will then more than double to £893,000 if the eventual champion remains undefeated, more than the sum Rafael Nadal received when he won this year's Wimbledon.
Yesterday's bet of backing Gilles Simon -3.5 games handicap was a winner with the Frenchman annihilating Radek Stepanek in straight sets 6-1 6-4 to finish the Red group with a 2-1 record, he now faces Novak Djokovic in tomorrow's semi final.
Novak Djokovic v Gilles Simon
The tricky Frenchman has had a brilliant end to the year having beaten a number of top 10 players, including two wins against Federer. He has a winning record against Novak Djokovic and will prove to be a problematic player once again.
