"To beat David Nalbandian and Rafael Nadal so convincingly shows what a high level Murray is playing at."

After seeing off Rafael Nadal in the semi-final, Andy Murray can beat Roger Federer and win his first title of 2010 in Toronto, says Ben Caudell.

Andy Murray (GBR) v Roger Federer (SWI)

Tonight's final between the reigning champion Andy Murray and the 2004, 2006, winner Roger Federer will be the first meeting between the pair since Federer defeated the Scot to take the Australian Open title in January.

Murray, winner of six ATP Tour titles last year will be vying to capture his first title of 2010 and to become the first player since Andre Agassi in 1994-1995 to win back-to-back Canadian Crowns. The young Brit comes into this match with an overall series lead over the greatest player of all time 6-5 with all 11 matches played on the his favourite surface, the hard courts. If we take away the two Grand Slam wins for Federer, Murray's head-to-head lead reads 6-3 so it is understandable that the world number four starts the final as a slight favourite at [1.85] in the match odds.

I have a lot of faith in Murray to regain his Rogers Cup title against Federer tonight. This is clearly his favourite surface - he is 17-5 on hard courts this season - has a winning head-to-head series lead over Roger Federer and is playing the best tennis he has all year. To beat both David Nalbandian and Rafael Nadal so convincingly in straight sets, dropping just the single set all tournament, shows what a high level Murray is playing at. I believe this is partly due to Murrays recent split from his coach Miles Maclagen; his ball striking skills have improved, he is enjoying a new-found freedom and is using more aggressive attacking shots.

With Federer's inconsistencies and lapses in concentration, I am going to side with Murray who seems to be unstoppable at the moment and could put claim to a new name for the tournament, Murrays Cup!

Selection: Back Andy Murray @ [1.85] to win match
