US Open runner-up Novak Djokovic will be the top seed for the BA-CA Trophy in Austria (October 8-14) and the Serb will prove to be popular in the betting markets.
The world number three was knocked out of the Vienna tournament at the second round stage last year and those checking the odds on offer, may feel Djokovic will be out to prove a point in 2007.
Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic has won the last two BA-CA Trophy finals, but those eyeing a bet should take note that no player has won three consecutive titles in the tournament's 32-year history.
The indoor hard-court event sees many big names heading to the Austrian capital, with betting punters looking to pick a winner from a strong field.
Six of the world's top twenty will among the 32-man field vying for the €133,000 first prize, including Fernando Gonzalez, who is likely to be a popular option for many betting punters. The Chilean was last year's runner-up and is likely to feature towards the top of the tournament odds.
Spain's Juan Carlos Ferrero is another player who could prove a popular bet for BA-CA Trophy punters. The world number 24 was beaten in the final in 2005, but he is looking for his first ATP Tour title since 2003.
Marcos Baghdatis looks on paper like another potential winner, with experienced betting punters likely to be aware that the Cypriot fifth seed appears to favour hard-court surfaces.
There has only been one home victory in the BA-CA Trophy, Horst Skoff in 1988, and although that's unlikely to change in 2007, customers having a bet may feel Jurgen Melzer and Stefan Koubek can have a good run in front of a patriotic crowd.
