Patrik Antonius hit the rail early on in day three. He started the day short stacked and after a raise from the button, he moved all in with the big blind. Patrik was slightly behind with KcJh against his opponents Ah10h but took the lead on a flop of Kh 6s 2c. The turn was the 4h which gave his opponent a flush draw and a Qh on the river sent Patrik home. Patrik might not of been playing quite to his usual standards after an incident at the Wynn golf course that left him very angry.
Ryan 'Daut44' Daut was eliminated when it was folded to the player on the button who raised and Ryan re-raised from the small blind with AhAc, getting a call. On a flop of Qh 10s 7c, Ryan bet right out and called when his opponent moved al in. Ryan was way behind when his opponent turned over 10h10d and was sent to the rail less than 50 places before the money. Ryan has had a terrible run a the Main Event, last year running quads into a straight flush and the year before running top two pair into the same hand, only for his opponent to hit runner runner cards for a flush.
Gus Hansen played his typical wild style for most of the day. Towards the end of the day, on a board reading 9 2 3 9, he moved all in and got a quick call from his opponent. Gus showed Q9 for turned trips, which would annoy his opponent who showed JJ. Gus made a full house on the river and afterwards said 'Wow, what a turn. It was a piece of s*** hands but I was on tilt.' Phil Hellmuth also spent most of the day playing up to the cameras, but also making some impressive moves. He laid down AK preflop, getting showed AA and after making another tough laydown, told the dozens of cameras watching him 'This is how I make all my money, by making great moves.'
One time chip leader Brandom Adams was eliminated late on in day 3, just making the money. After some big pots, he finally moved all in with 8h8c and had two callers, one of which was all in also. In was was a big pot for him, Adams was in good shape when his opponents turned over 7d 7c and As 10s. The flop was a bad one, Ah Kh 10h but Adams still had hope as he was the only player in the hand with a heart. Sadly no help and adams was eliminated in 618th place for $21,230.
