John in action during Day 2
So yesterday was Day 2 of the Main Event and it sadly didn't go how I predicted earlier in the day. I thought I was going to finish the dinner break with 160,000 but I finished up with 160,000 less than that because I busted just before the dinner break, which is kind of tilting.
To be honest the whole day sucked. I had a really good table but I just couldn't get anything to work. I managed to run ace-king into kings button versus blind and then queens into aces, again button versus blind. The whole day was like I was up against a brick wall. Then right at the end I got my last chips in with ace-nine against ace-two of clubs and the flop came club, club, club, obviously so that was a good game.
After I busted I went to relax a little bit and went to the Venetian to play some cash and it was the complete opposite of the Main Event! Every hand that I played, even if it was ten-three of diamonds, I just hit so I did OK there. The plan now is to play in the $5k Main Event at the Venetian, which I am looking forward to because I think it'll be a really good structure. I mean, if you're not in the Main Event what else are you going to do? You have to keep playing, right?!
I'm going to spend the next couple of days focussing on poker, I want to play a few more tournaments, get a good result in the $5k and then it is back to clubbing and partying again! Before I go I want to give a shout out to the six remaining Betfair Poker players who have made it to Day 3, which starts at noon on Thursday. Good luck to those and all my friends still in.
