Who's the daddy?!

I am officially a daddy again after Mrs P gave birth to Baby Pudding, who weighed a whopping 9lb 2oz, at 1042 on Monday morning after a seven hour labour!
I cut his cord, like I did with Pud Jr, and then just stared at him and wondered how the hell he used to fit in his mum's belly! LOL!
Mrs P was due to be induced on the Tuesday but started with contractions that were 15 minutes apart on Sunday afternoon so we knew he'd be making an appearance soon. After being kept awake by her being in pain, I got up, had a coffee and watched some online poker whilst she tried to chill out in bed.
At 0400 the pain started to become unbearable so I drove Step Pud to his grandma's and then Mrs P to the local hospital. Since I run bad at life, even in emergency situations, my central locking decided it was time to die and wouldn't lock the bloody door so I had to leave it unlocked in the hospital grounds!
Around two hours later the contractions were coming on thick and fast and becoming so strong that Mrs P started using the gas and air for pain relief. We watched on the monitor as it detected a contraction and tried to time it so the gas an air was in her system as the contraction peaked. I don't know what they are measured in but they were reaching "30" and seemed painful.
Another few hours passed and the machine was now displaying figures in the mid fifties and the Mrs was in obvious pain. Unless you've been there you can't imagine what it is like to see someone you love in agony, not knowing what to say or do. I just tried to reassure her that each contraction meant one less and one step closer to seeing out baby boy.
By nine or ten in the morning, Mrs P was crying with the pain and requested an epidural to stop the pain of the contraction but after an internal examination the midwife informed us it was too late, she was almost ready to deliver and unlucky! Mrs P also runs bad at life!
After 32 minutes of pushing and having almost had my arm ripped from its socket by Mrs P's brute strength, Baby Pudding entered the world, screamed his little head off and was placed on the exhausted Mrs P's chest. I cut his cord, like I did with Pud Jr, and then just stared at him and wondered how the hell he used to fit in his mum's belly! LOL!
He and his mother came home the following lunch time and we just sat and stared at him as he is gorgeous! Bed time was fun as he makes all sorts of noises we weren't used to and with neither of us sleeping very well for a few days were past it all and couldn't sleep properly either.
Our sleep patterns have gone haywire with us basically doing shifts at the minute! Last night I sent Mrs P to bed about 2000 and came to bed myself at midnight, then around 1am Mrs P took baby downstairs as he was grunting etc stayed there until nearly five when she came to bed and took over!
All in all I am delighted with my new baby and he is a welcomed addition to the Pudding family! I'm looking forward to seeing Pud Jr this weekend as watching the birth reminded me of how proud I was to have him almost six years ago and it makes you realise how quickly they grow up too!
I have played a tiny amount of poker, most of it at ungodly times of the day, but I'll save that for the next entry. I'd also like to thank everyone for their kind text messages, comments on Twitter and on Facebook. By the way, here's another baby photo where he is obviously contemplating his next move, to go with the picture at the top of this entry! Poker player in the making?
I'll leave it there for now, as always thanks for reading and best of luck at the tables!

Congratulations mate. I'm still waiting with baited breath, your write up has made me even more nervous lol. (Monday is the due date)
Do you and Mrs P recommend just getting the epidural rather than waiting until she cant stand the pain anymore, we are debating it but not sure?
glad everything is ok,
