Wild Cane Ridge hasn't been at his best for some time now, but there have been indications that he does retain plenty of ability this year, not least when a smooth-travelling sixth in a handicap hurdle at Kelso on his reappearance. He's reverted to fences today from a much-reduced mark and it's not hard to see him running a big race this afternoon, particularly as he'll be unhassled in front (he's the only one on the Timeform In-Play card with an 'M' by his name) and faces lesser opposition than he's used to.
