Several of the big handicaps on the first two days of the festival have been favouring those ridden prominently, and the Pertemps Final is likely to pan out the same way given only three of the twenty-four strong field are front runners according to Timeform's In-Play card. One of those is Chartreux, who left the impression he was comfortably ahead of his mark when narrowly beaten by stablemates Junior and Ashkazar, travelling best but pressing on too soon with the former.
