What is it about Mark Johnston-trained horses that makes them so difficult to peg back?
Today's Timeform Race Angle is at Wolverhampton...
19:10 - 1m 4f Handicap
Horses allowed a soft lead are always at an advantage, but there's something about those trained by Mark Johnston that makes them even more difficult to peg back than the average one that dictates, and Realisation looks a classic example of one that will bounce out and control things throughout. He's taken very well to polytrack and, though he's not an out-and-out front runner, he usually races handily, while the free form site (https://www.timeform.com/free/) shows he frequently trades at shorter in the run, so an in-running lay at around [1.9] is also an option. Stable jockey Joe Fanning rides particularly well from the front, but tonight's booking of Silvestre de Sousa tonight is certainly no negative, the superb Brazilian's ride on Exemplary at Kempton last night serving as a reminder of how tactically astute he is, too.
