Southwell hosts two of today's selections.

"Where’s Reiley has fallen 6 lb below his last winning mark and his latest effort round here suggested he’s ready to capitalise on it very soon"

Three all-weather selections for Thursday...

The opening race at Southwell won't take much winning and Mazovian is worth siding with. The Michael Chapman-trained runner has already proven his liking for fibresand, making the frame on five attempts here already, and on each occasion he's travelled strongly, looking well worth another try at this minimum trip. He's paired with Julie Burke for the first time this afternoon and both of his main rivals, Take Your Partner and Deliberation, have to prove their effectiveness on today's surface, the former already having disappointed on it once, so Mazovian makes appeal at [3.6].

Where's Reiley has fallen 6 lb below his last winning mark and his latest effort round here suggested he's ready to capitalise on it very soon, with today's race looking as good as any for him. The way he's ridden means a well-run contest is needed and there should be enough pace on this afternoon to show him to best effect, so the David Barron runner is a worthy favourite against mostly opposition with little in hand from their marks and, though he's largely been seen at five furlongs of late, he's fully effective at this trip.

Memphis Man is hardly the most convincing of characters, but his finish last time gave a bit more hope and he's worth chancing at odds of [9.2] with Neil Callan on board for the first time. He's fully 13 lb below his last win in the middle of 2010 and wouldn't even need to be back at that level to get the better of a modest and exposed bunch tonight.

Recommendations

Back Where's Reiley @ [3.3] Southwell 16:20
