Two bets from what looks a competitive card at Southwell and one this evening at Wolverhampton, all courtesy of the Timeform Free Form site...

Jack's Revenge looked well ahead of his mark when landing a gamble on his handicap debut nine days ago and a penalty for that shouldn't prevent George Baker's charge following up. It's hard to see either Three Opera Divas or Ace Master (who has won himself since) gaining revenge on Jack for the beating he dished out to them last week. In fact, the biggest danger may well prove to be Reachforthebucks, who has his first start for Michael Wigham this afternoon, but that's based on early market support rather than anything he'd shown in maidens last year and, trading at odds against, Jack's Revenge is a good bet to kick off the day with a winner.

David Barron is renowned for his success on fibresand, the majority of his runners tending to relish the surface, and Tsar Bomba can defy a penalty by building on last week's reappearance win back in handicap company today. Lee Newman's mount travelled smoothly for that victory and, although this is tougher, he's the least exposed in the field and can improve past the usual suspects.

Valmina has only the one win to his name, but there's no doubting he's on a good mark judged on his latest display. Little went the way of Valmina on his reappearance earlier this month, missing the break and starting his run too late under his inexperienced rider, but he can gain compensation for that luckless run with Luke Morris on board this evening. Several of tonight's opposition are potentially well treated, but they're not the most straightforward bunch and Valmina is attractively priced at [5.2].
