It's three jumpers today
"There's a good chance L'Homme de Nuit will be seen in a better light now handicapping.."
Just two National Hunt meetings in Britain to go at today and appealing bets are few and far between. These three appear to stand out more than most, however.
L'Homme de Nuit (15.30) brings much the best hurdling form to the table in a weak handicap chase at Towcester and is worth chancing on his handicap debut for Jim Best. A winner of a strong novice handicap hurdle off 106 at Sandown in December 2009 when with Gary Moore, L'Homme de Nuit's jumping over fences hasn't been perfect so far, though there was a fair bit more encouragement at Leicester last time. There's a good chance he'll be seen in a better light now handicapping in this sphere. The obvious danger is Warwick winner Sawpit Supreme representing the in-form Venetia Williams yard but she's no great jumper either.
At Fontwell Quel Bruere (15.10) can go one better than at Huntingdon last time having found only a handicap blot in the shape of Midnight Appeal too good. With a first-time combination of cheekpieces and a tongue tie, Quel Bruere showed a good attitude in only going down by a length and a quarter to Alan King's charge and we'll take a chance on him being on one of his 'going' days again today.
Staying at the track and another who can build on a promising second at Huntingdon is Just The Job (16.45), who ran a blinder when going down by a neck to Rossbrin earlier in the week. A multiple winner of similar events in November, it was a career-best that Just The Job posted three days ago and he'll be very hard to beat if in the same form.
