"Off a mark of 87, Sambelucky leaves the impression that we’ve not seen the best of him yet.."

Jackpot millionaire Steve Whiteley will disagree, but winners have been hard to come by in the last few days. Hopefully we'll have a bit more luck today, when all three selections come in the space of twenty minutes.

Gurtacrue (15.00) can get off the mark over hurdles in the maiden at Fontwell. The six-year-old has won a couple of point to points and a bumper and finished runner-up in a couple of warm races on his first two starts over timber. His latest third at Hereford doesn't look as disappointing now as it did at the time, with the pair in front of him that day, Whoops A Daisy and Charminster, both improving in the meantime. Evan Williams has his string in cracking form and Gurtacrue should be able to see off a moderate-looking field with conditions ideal.

Stoneacre Gareth (15.10) looks up to completing the hat-trick under Adam Kirby in the seven-furlong handicap at Lingfield. He slammed subsequent winner Grey Boy on the return from an absence of nearly three years at Kempton last month, and followed up in good style from another well-treated one in Senor Tommie at Wolverhampton last Thursday. Despite carrying another penalty for that, Stoneacre Gareth is sure to take all the beating if in the same form, and the race has cut up as well, with three non-runners at time of writing.

There's a big-field handicap hurdle at Catterick to get stuck into and Sambelucky (15.20) could be up to landing a second course and distance success for the Reveleys. Despite being a beaten favourite on both starts since, he's run creditably in defeat, and wasn't given a hard time once his chance had gone at Wetherby last time. Off a mark of 87, Sambelucky leaves the impression that we've not seen the best of him yet.
