"Sweet Origin has far more scope for further progress than anything else in Kempton's sixth race and the Marco Botti-trained runner should be able to complete his hat-trick this evening."

Phil Spink was let down only by Psi yesterday, making it four from six selections for the week so far, and I'd settle for maintaining that ratio today...

Nikos Extra hasn't won since the end of 2009, but he's shaped on numerous occasions as if still on a competitive mark and there's plenty to recommend him this afternoon. Not only does Alan King's runner go well fresh, but he also won't be inconvenienced by the quickening ground and, although he's up against some progressive opposition who merit plenty of respect, not least Hector's Choice, Nikos Extra appeals as a value bet at [5.2].

The 18:20 at Kempton isn't going to take much winning and it's well worth taking on last-time-out winner Carr Hall, who is hardly the most consistent, and, barring Duneen Dream, the most interesting runner is the unexposed Hecton Lad. He showed improved form when third over course and distance on his handicap debut last month and, though he's disappointed at Wolverhampton since, this is just his sixth start, so there's more to recommend him than most in a weak contest.

Sweet Origin has far more scope for further progress than anything else in Kempton's sixth race and the Marco Botti-trained runner should be able to complete his hat-trick this evening. He's been campaigned solely at Wolverhampton so far, winning despite showing inexperience on each of his last two starts, and there's no reason why he won't prove as effective at Kempton, so he should have little trouble in accounting for his main danger, the resurgent Sir Boss, and an otherwise exposed bunch.
