We kick off with Iolith who is chasing the hat-trick and has every chance of achieving it in the first handicap hurdle at Taunton (15:40). Iolith had Shammick Boy back in seventh when victorious over course and distance last time, and that horse has gone on to score twice since, so the form looks strong in the context of this race. He's also open to further improvement and if his jockey can conserve his stamina once more, he should have the beating of Ciceron and Pistolet Noir. However, should the race develop into a slog, he could have most to fear from the consistent Organisateur.

With the Silver By Nature yard of Lucinda Russell in such flying form, Prince Tam (16:25) looks to hold strong claims of adding to his recent victory in the handicap chase at Wetherby. Although the 7-y-o old does need to step up on that win to go in again here, the distance and going hold no fears for him and he's again partnered by Campbell Gillies, so looks set fair for another bold effort providing he can avoid the odd error of jumping judgment that can sometimes scupper his chances. The consistently average Sun Tzu is most likely of the remainder to pose a problem.

For the final selection, we take in a handicap hurdle from Taunton, where David Pipe's E Street Boy (16:45) looks the value selection in a race lacking quality. Despite not showing any obvious signs of being a winner-waiting-to-happen in his three hurdle starts to date, the former Brendan Powell-trained 5-y-o has shown enough to suggest that the step up from two miles is going to prove much more to his liking and it could well bring about sufficient improvement to take this, from the modest Chilburry Hill and poor Kaycee.
