"Tenor Nivernais jumped well that day and should progress..."

It's often folly to do so at present, but the Timeform Free Form Website think it could be worth opposing one of Mark Johnston's runners at Southwell this afternoon, though the losing run may last just half an hour!

Kishanda (16:00) can make her fibresand experience count in the 1m maiden at Southwell. Hughie Morrison's filly made a promising start when second to a newcomer of Mark Johnston's in Son Vida over course and distance last month. The red-hot Johnston yard saddle the biggest danger to the selection in the form of New Latin, but he's looked none too straightforward, reluctant right from the off in a nursery at Kempton in December, and Kishanda should be open to improvement.

Compensation shouldn't be too long in coming for Mark Johnston, who trains fascinating handicap debutant Aloneinthestreet (16:30) in the last. His three runs last autumn almost certainly didn't get to the bottom of him and an opening mark of 64 could prove most lenient. Gelded since last seen, he takes on four fillies here, of whom Double Duchess looks the biggest danger defending an unbeaten record over course and distance.

There are competitive jumps meetings at Folkestone and Taunton also this afternoon and one that makes plenty of interest on the latter's card is Tenor Nivernais (15:50) for Venetia Williams. A dual winner of juvenile hurdles in France, the four-year-old made a highly encouraging start in Britain when chasing home Minnie Hill and King's Revenge in a big-field handicap at Wincanton ten days ago, finishing well having been shuffled back entering the straight. Tenor Nivernais jumped well that day and should progress.
