Today's best bet comes on the polytrack at Lingfield

"the promise Apache Glory showed when staying on under largely hands and heels to finish sixth on her debut over C&D last month suggests she will be able to improve past Simon Dow’s gelding."

Hopefully, we can keep the run of at least one Saturday winner going, starting at Lingfield....

Assuming the two newcomers aren't anything out of the ordinary, then the maiden at Lingfield at 14:20 looks a very winnable opportunity for Richard Hannon's Apache Glory. Tagansky sets the standard on form, but it's not a very high one and the promise Apache Glory showed when staying on under largely hands and heels to finish sixth on her debut over C&D last month suggests she will be able to improve past Simon Dow's gelding, which isn't really reflected in the current prices.

The next two selections come at Sandown, the first of which is just five minutes after Apache Glory has (hopefully) done the business. The Grade 1 Scilly Isles Novice Chase looks pretty competitive, with a number of the field including Hidden Keel and Mr Gardner looking open to improvement, but the latter's stablemate, Nadiya de La Vega, is the one to concentrate on. She too is far from exposed over fences, doing all that has been asked of her in two starts over the bigger obstacles since joining Nicky Henderson from France. Nadiya de La Vega followed up her Warwick win at Kempton last time despite making a blunder two out, beating Pepe Simo a length with 19 more back to the third. Nadiya de La Vega promises to be suited by the step up in trip and should take the beating in receipt of all the allowances.

Another who promises to be suited by the longer distance they encounter today is Royale's Charter, who runs in the closing race at Sandown (16:40). A half-brother to Fleur de Vassy (stays 2¾m) out of a useful chaser at up to 3¼m, Royale's Charter has so far raced only at 2m but gets the chance to tackle two and a half in the novice handicap hurdle today. It's another competitive field, but he shaped really well when a much-improved second behind Arrayan (won again since) at Wincanton last time and looks to have been let off lightly raised to a mark of just 110, the pair having pulled nine lengths clear that day.

Recommendations

Back Apache Glory @ [3.0] Lingfield 14:20
Back Nadiya de La Vega @ [6.8] Sandown 14:25
Back Royale's Charter @ [4.5] Sandown 16:40
