No superstars on show at Kempton tonight, but it promises to be an interesting card nonetheless, and an appealing one for Placepot purposes.

17:10 - A tough low-grade sprint to begin with, but at least there's Bluebok to rely on. He should be thereabouts and while Steel City Boy isn't anywhere near so solid, he has to go in having shaped as if back in form from a much-reduced mark last time.

17:40 - It would be foolish to leave out Mandy's Hero given he's a progressive sprinter, but there is a nagging doubt that he'll be taken on for the lead tonight, so Lady Prodee, who could have the race set up for her, is in as a bit of insurance.

18:10 - Bankers in these low-grade handicaps are always a bit dodgy, but in this case it's very hard to find anything to accompany Fastinthestraight, who'll win this if in the same mood as when landing a gamble over course and distance last week.

18:40 - Claimers at Kempton used to hold fond memories for Jake The Snake until Caprio's vicious gesture (attempted to bite Jake The Snake as the pair approached the line) cost him the race at the track on his penultimate start. Since then he's run well in a handicap and he's got the best form in this, so will take all the beating. Also on side is Hinton Admiral, who's been firmly on the up since joining Jane Chapple-Hyam.

19:10 - Dorcas Lane made a promising start at Lingfield, but it's still unlikely she'll have enough to trouble the banker, Aloneinthestreet, who won easily at Southwell on his handicap debut and is bred to be much better even than he's shown so far.

19:40 - Finally, it's not often there'll be opportunities to back a full sister to a Chester Vase winner from a mark of 45 in a mile-and-a-half handicap, so Handicraft is certainly worth backing tonight, even if she is only [2.52]. Having said that, she's not quite as solid for Placepot purposes as Blue Cossack, so he's also included.
