Today's placepot attempt is at Lingfield
"Arctic Lynx is arguably the only progressive sort we’ve seen in this sprint series and after going up just 5 lb for his comfortable success in the qualifier, he looks sure to take a hand in today’s final"
Probably the best all-weather card of the year so far at Lingfield, the highlight the final of the sprint series.
13:35 - The Victor Dartnall yard is going so well that Jezza is almost certain to return from his short break in the same form as when last seen, but such a potentially muddling race requires a very cautious approach, so Gunslinger is also on side having made an encouraging return to the Flat last Saturday.
14:10 - Arctic Lynx is arguably the only progressive sort we've seen in this sprint series and after going up just 5 lb for his comfortable success in the qualifier, he looks sure to take a hand in today's final, particularly as he's got an ideal draw and the current leading all-weather jockey George Baker on board. He'll take plenty of beating let alone keeping out of the three, but the similarly well-drawn Rio Royale is included just in case.
14:40 - Leg three is the only race on the card that lacks a competitive edge, so we've got to take the opportunity to use a banker, and the rock solid efforts of Jacobs Son in nurseries last year stand out in this field.
15:10 - It'll be a much safer option to side with those horses that have been thriving of late as opposed to those that are returning from a short break in the listed race even if the likes of Hitchens, Angel's Pursuit and Duff have an edge in terms of form. Anne of Kiev and Brave Prospector both have a bit to find, but they're arriving on the back of career-best efforts and will be suited by how the race pans out as fast finishers, so they're the two to have on side.
15:45 - The penultimate leg is a tricky one to figure out, Le Toreador was fully wound up for his reappearance at this track last year, winning from a 6 lb higher mark than he runs off today, but the competition he's likely to face for the lead means it's worth having a hold-up performer on side, too, the in-form Even Bolder fitting the bill in that respect.
16:20 - Suits Me isn't the force of old, but he's been giving his all recently and at least a soft lead is almost guaranteed here, so he can go in as the obvious first choice. Baylini will adopt contrasting tactics, but she does well under these circumstances, so this slight step up in class shouldn't be a problem for her.
