Today's placepot attempt is at Lingfield

"it's hard to know whether they're going to go too quick or not. If they do Nubar Boy is sure to be in the shake up, where as if they don't Waabel is my idea of the likeliest winner."

Another excellent, yet difficult eight-race card at Lingfield. Thankfully, we only need to survive six to scoop what should be a hefty placepot prize.

13:00 - Lines need saving for later in the afternoon and there shouldn't be any problems banking on Kokojo early. He's got the best form in the maiden and the yard's in good enough heart to be confident they'll have brought him back from a break fully wound up.

13:30 - I'm keen to take A Little Bit Dusty on in the seller having had absolutely everything go his way at Wolverhampton last time. High Avon shaped better than the result in a handicap at Kempton earlier this month, while Hackett ran well in plating company last time, so that's the pair to oppose him with.

14:05 - Leg three could be the time to look for a 'result', with neither of the first two in the betting having looked the most straightforward to date. Lakota Ghost and Anna Fontenail have both shaped with sufficient promise in a couple of runs so far to suggest they can be taking a hand in this, particularly the former, who did well from a poor position over course and distance last time, so they're the pair to have on side.

14:35 - Now it starts getting nasty, with the dreaded sprint series races, but at least Primo de Vida stands out a long way in the first of the two divisions, having taken very well to sprinting when winning a course and distance maiden very easily earlier in the month. Fantasy Fighter mightn't be the most straightforward, but he made a sound reappearance at Lingfield and this strong pace will help him to settle better than that day, so he's the second choice.

15:05 - In the second division, it's hard to know whether they're going to go too quick or not. If they do Nubar Boy is sure to be in the shake up, where as if they don't Waabel is my idea of the likeliest winner, so stick them both in and you can't go far wrong (in theory).

15:40 - Though the final leg isn't anywhere near as big a field as the two races that precede it, the presence of Feeling Foxy, Sir Geoffrey and Grudge means they're almost certain to go a strong pace, setting the race up for the final selections You'relikemefrank and Ebraam, the former having been successful on his last three visits to the track.
