"Ontrack and Mauricetheathlete have contrasting profiles, one a progressive sort coming off the back of a win and the other thoroughly exposed and slipping the weights, but both are thorough stayers"
A quiet Sunday's racing on which Sedgefield is the target for the placepot.
14:20 - Eighteen Carat's jumping might still be a work in progress but the form of his last couple of runs is enough to recommend him as a banker in the opener, the fact he'll probably get an easy lead another big positive.
14:50 - Lightening Rod has to go in leg two having shaped so well prior to falling on his chasing debut, but he's not certain to have come out of that unscathed so Catch Bob, one of the few in this with previous experience of chasing, goes in, too, as a solid option.
15:20 - Ontrack and Mauricetheathlete have contrasting profiles, one a progressive sort coming off the back of a win and the other thoroughly exposed and slipping the weights, but both are thorough stayers and are well worth a spot in the placepot.
15:50 - It's not going to take a great performance to reach the first three in the fourth leg - a really weak handicap chase, so it's more a case of finding ones that are going to give their running. Mansonien L'As fits the bill in that respect while Ravensbill at least isn't totally exposed and might improve for the switch to fences, so they're the two to have on side.
16:20 - Now for another banker. Lerida has some solid recent form to his name, including when second at Sedgefield last time, and he's likely to get his own way in front, so there's no need to have any others on side.
16:50 - Sea Cliff's course-and-distance win last month is working out very well, so it's easy to see him being thereabouts again despite a 10 lb rise. He's accompanied by Sharadiyn who shaped well on the back of an absence at Wetherby.
