We're off to East Lothian for today's attempt at the placepot...

13:30 - Skint is sure to be popular in the opening novice, but there's been enough encouragement from Moon Indigo and Bridlingtonbygones to imagine taking the pair against the favourite will represent some sort of value. The slightly better ground should suit the former, the longer trip the latter.

14:00 - A competitive handicap hurdle makes for the second leg. It's easy to see why the relatively unexposed Altan Khan is favourite as things stand, but there doesn't seem much value in him at his current price and it's possible to make similarly tight cases for Viva Colonia and Pipe Banner.

14:30 - As ever, the Scottish Triumph Hurdle is a trial for Cheltenham's March version in name only, but there are some promising juveniles amongst the field all the same. Titan de Sarti has come to this country with a big reputation and may yet do better, but as in the first two races he's bound to take up the bulk of the pool, so we're going to look elsewhere. Danceintothelight should be suited by the relative test of speed and has done enough to imagine he can make the shake-up, whilst Eltheeb made an encouraging start over hurdles behind Local Hero and is taken alongside.

15:00 - A four-runner novice chase will always provide a conundrum when it comes to placepotting. In this instance we're playing it safe by incorporating the lot and hoping for a 'result'. That's Divers, Film Festival, Gilbarry and Nafaath.

15:35 - Hunterview isn't one to trust as a rule, so we've no qualms in opposing the likely favourite in the Scottish County Hurdle. With what is an altogether tougher question. Ultimate gives the impression he's still to reach his limit and should be better suited by conditions today than last time, and Los Nadis is given a chance alongside on his first outing for Jim Goldie.

16:10 - We've racked up quite a few lines already, so we're looking for a banker in the finale. Unfortunately just seven are set to go to post, but all the same there was sufficient encouragement from Or d'Oudairies on his first start for Ferdy Murphy to suggest his new yard can exploit a potentially lenient handicap mark, enough to take he and he alone.
