With just over a fortnight to go until the big race at Santa Anita, Rip Van Winkle is the [3.6] favourite on Betfair...

Sea The Stars may have confirmed himself as the best horse since Dancing Brave with another superlative display in Sunday's Arc, but doubts about his participation mean he is not even the favourite on Betfair to win the Breeders Cup Classic.

The Arc De Triomphe winner currently trades at [3.75] on Betfair, while Rip Van Winkle - the horse he left in his wake in the 2,000 Guineas, Derby and Coral-Eclipse - is marginally favoured on the exchange at [3.6].

Sea The Stars is a top-priced 4-5 elsewhere in the industry.

Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "The Betfair price clearly indicates that our customers believe that we have seen the last of Sea The Stars on a racecourse. Let's hope they are wrong."
