Here's hoping for a windfall from Greenfell

13:30 Huntingdon - LAY - Greenfell (Forecast - 2.8)

Today's race is the 13:30 Huntingdon, it's a class 4 handicap chase over 3 miles. Greenfell is forecast favourite trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies and ridden by Paddy Brennan.

But this Greenfell is a scoundrel of the highest order, she is the only mare in the field racing against the boys and if I was one of the other four chaps I would be embarrassed beyond all recognition if this joker was to beat me.

She won a pathetic bumper race back in 2005 on her racecourse debut and since then it has all gone downhill. She remains a maiden after 11 races over fences and hurdles and has been beaten in chase handicaps off marks ranging between 87 and 94 in her last five races. Nonetheless, she has been climbing the handicap without winning and races off 97 today.

This cretinous wretch has never raced on ground any faster than good so today's gd-firm ground is likely to be against her.

The horse has just the one pace and that pace is slow, so a fast track like Huntingdon is not going to suit her. She has also been a beaten favourite on six occasions.

Blaze Ahead and Croc An Oir can go well in an open small field race but I will be laying the hideous Greenfell.

Today's lay finished unplaced
