"Points of View has been transformed into a particularly strong traveller with a finish to match since fitted with a tongue strap, winning three times in quick succession with contemptuous ease. He's been raised 15 lb from his latest win to a mark of 132, but he seemed to belong in a genuinely different class to his opposition at Bangor last time, and gets his chance to prove that here."
Rory Delargy and Paul Jacobs take you through a packed Saturday schedule on Timeform Radio which features a star-studded card at Ascot, but Market Rasen provides the bet of the day:
Best Bet - Points of View - 14:20 Market Rasen
One of the highlights of the summer jumping season, and there have been fairly few, has been the sudden rise of Points of View as a hurdling force. Previously a free-going sort with a tendency to find little off the bridle, he has been transformed into a particularly strong traveller with a finish to match since fitted with a tongue strap, winning three times in quick succession with contemptuous ease. He's been raised 15 lb from his latest win to a mark of 132, which would be enough to stop most impressive winners, but he seemed to belong in a genuinely different class to his opposition at Bangor last time, and gets his chance to prove that here.
Next Best - Two Kisses - 14:50 Market Rasen
Brendan Powell's Two Kisses has taken to hurdling with an alacrity which wouldn't have been foreseeable to anyone who watched her on the Flat. Her last race on the level came over just a mile, when, not for the first time, she earned a Timeform Perspective comment which suggested she has definite stamina limitations beyond 6f. She had also shown her best form up to January this year, raising the possibility that she was simply a forward sort as a juvenile who had failed to train on. What a pleasant surprise then to see her stay 17f with ease and jump with real fluency in notching up a couple of fair wins. She is destined for better too, not having been off the bridle on her last 2 outings, and appearing to relish her new career. Don't miss her.
