VERDICT:
Gwilym was well backed but disappointing yesterday when finishing a head out of the places. We head to Southwell on Tuesday where the two mile handicap at Southwell on the all-weather looks an interesting puzzle that might go to the lightly raced QUARANTE DEUX. He is one of least experienced runners in the field but has the all-weather experience (albeit Polytrack rather than Fibresand) and has given every indication this big step-up in distance will suit - especially after a staying on third over the tough Carlisle circuit last time out.
