The place part of the bet saved the stakes (less 4p!) on Catherines Call yesterday - she ran well enough to take third at Wolverhampton. In the 4.40 at Hamilton on Sunday WIDOW BIRD could be the answer to a wide open handicap where (amazingly at the time of writing) all 11 runners stand their ground. She makes her handicap debut and gets the assistance of Richard Hughes in the saddle. The step-up in distance should be to her liking and the form of her Windsor fourth looks solid enough with the third that day following up with a good run at Sandown.
