VERDICT:
Valid Reason came within a short head of giving us a [12.50] Betfair SP winner on Thursday. Still, we made a net profit on the day from the place part of the bet. CHANGING THE GUARD can hopefully also sneak a place in the 8.50 at Haydock tonight. Richard Fahey's runner was a beaten favourite at Pontefract last time out but the flatter contours of this course may suit better. His only career success on turf came at York.
