About The XY Factor

Welcome to a new daily tipping column on betting.betfair.com - The XY Factor. Each day we carefully select a race (usually a handicap) which is then analysed by our computer which predicts the % chance of each horse in the race based on a wide range of variables and our unique algorithm.

The results are plotted on the graph - and the 'selection line' is plotted - anything above the line we are interested in backing - anything below misses the cut.

We aren't afraid to have more than one bet in the race where the prices dictate and the service is fully accountable with running totals of weekly and monthly returns to the recommended stakes.

Whilst the approximate price is given at the time of publishing - the final returns will be based on the Betfair Starting Price (BSP) for consistency.

Date:
Wednesday 1 October

Selected Race:
Newcastle 4.15

Suggested Bets (current win odds in brackets):
4 point win MOHEEBB [4.6]
2 point win WE'RE DELIGHTED [3.5]

Staking Plan Records:
Yesterday: -6.00
This Week: -9.50
This Month: -9.50

Today's Verdict:
No excuses yesterday - both selections ran disappointingly - particularly Muree Queen who flattened out very quickly and never got competitive. The 4.15 at Newcastle has a different look with the news that our original top-rated Shunkawakhan is a non-runner. That should leave the path clear for the two at the top of the market and we prefer the chances of the top-weight MOHEEBB with a saver 'anchor' bet on the favourite WE'RE DELIGHTED. Both come into the race with good recent form, unlike the majority of the runners. Moheebb romped home at Hamilton - relishing the soft ground and should relish the soft undercut conditions again today.

    Hi XY,
i am really put out that you have not responded to my perfectly rational question about your service.Betfair preaches transparency but it somehow does not apply to you.

Please explain these algorithms and how you arrive with these selections. In my opinion this service has completely collapsed within a few days
and everyone who is following you is losing a mint.
Today you have chosen the favourite and second favourite in a fiercley contested race. Also who bets when the ground is so bad.Does your computer tell you that.Needless to say your selections lose again and you just carry on regardless.
Please could you explain yourself and these complex algorithms please as we really need to know.Surely we deserve at least this.We need explanations.Thank you
