"Cadspeed (12:55) may be a short price but he looks real banker material in this two-mile novice chase. He really got his act together over hurdles towards the end of 2009/10, winning twice, and made a most encouraging start over the larger obstacles when second to Torphichen at Clonmel"

There's an interesting card at Naas today and we've come up with three win bets...

The opening maiden hurdle (12:25) doesn't look as competitive as the numbers might suggest, and though Sparkling Tara is entitled to improve judged on his bumper form and Popmurphy is an interesting recruit from the Flat, White Star Line has looked a winner waiting to happen in this sort of contest and can get us off to a good start. He ran subsequent Grade 1 winner First Lieutenant to within two and a half lengths on his reappearance at Punchestown and again jumped/travelled well when second over this course and distance last time. White Star Line's style of running also makes him a good candidate as a back-to-lay option, but given the lack of challengers and his relatively short price, and outright win bet is the suggestion instead.

Cadspeed (12:55) may be a short price but he looks real banker material in this two-mile novice chase. He really got his act together over hurdles towards the end of 2009/10, winning twice, and made a most encouraging start over the larger obstacles when second to Torphichen at Clonmel last month, jumping fluently in a clear lead for much of the way. His main rivals are Uncle Tom Cobley and Prince Erik, but both are probably better over further, whilst there are still some jumping concerns surrounding the latter, this track a greater test than Sligo, where he was successful when last seen in September.

Lucky Spring and Tawrific Laois are the pair with solid handicap form in the hurdle race due off at 15:00. However, their latest efforts suggest that they are vulnerable to anything progressive and Aon Sceal seems to fit that bill. He has left the firm impression that three maiden hurdles have merely scratched the surface with him, patiently riden and not unduly knocked about, and an initial mark of 100 could easily underplay his ability.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Back White Star Line in the 12:25 at Naas
Back Cadspeed in the 12:55 at Naas
Back Aon Sceal in the 15:00 at Naas
