By his own reckoning, bank holidays can be a nightmare, but Carl Harris has three selections for today's racing all the same...
Well, what a weekend! And it's not over yet with five Flat cards in the UK awaiting punters today. Bank Holidays are usually hectic and can be an absolute nightmare quite frankly, today looks like it could run true to form.
There are, however, a couple of 'hot horses' running that I flagged after their last run for consideration next time out. The first is the oddly named Badiat Alzaman (4.10) who runs in a Warwick Fillies Maiden, back on turf after running on poly-track. She was backed heavily that day, from 11/4 to 6/4f but was beaten by Leahurst, a very promising horse from the Jeremy Noseda stable. But for the winner, David Simcock's 3 year-old would have won by seven lengths and is clearly very well regarded. Connections will be looking to get back the money that was left behind at Wolverhampton last month.
Badiat Alzaman should have come on for that run and sets a standard that should be more than enough to win this Warwick Maiden.
At Kempton Noseda runs another horse with a bright looking future. Forgotten Voice (4.30) must have been a nightmare for the handicapper to rate following his Kempton win. He won by a short head off a mark of 82, but was denied a clear run, several times, and having pulled hard in the early stages the colt showed great acceleration to win leaving the impression that he could have won by a mile.
The handicapper has seen fit to put Forgotten Voice up 8lbs for that performance, to a mark of 90. That could be lenient and he could be very well handicapped today. Though very talented, he clearly is not altogether straightforward, and a big positive is that Shane Kelly retains the ride.
At bigger odds I like the look of Everaard (4.40) at Warwick for David Elsworth. The stable are in very good form and Everaard has been running well, beaten only a length on his last two outings. This one looks a good win and place proposition at attractive odds.
Let's hope that we manage to navigate our way through Bank Holiday Monday and come out the other side with more than we started with!
Bank Holiday Monday Bets...
4.10 Warwick - Badiat Alzaman - Win (Bet of the Day)
4.30 Kempton- Forgotten Voice - Win
4.40 Warwick- Everaard- Win and Place.

The Bet of the day was a class above the rest. Got an excellent price thanks to the money for the second FAV. Very well done!
I also got a good price on Forgotten voice before the money came.
