One racing punters' multiple left the layers out in the cold
"Using the amount of money which buys you a couple of pints in a London pub, or more precisely £8, he made enough money, more precisely £12, 215, to buy enough pints to quench the thirst of a small English village."
The freezing conditions have seen plenty of race meetings called off over the past few weeks but the all-weather action is alive and well and one punter had one massive payout on the back of it....
If you think that big stakes are needed for big wins on Betfair, think again. Putting up a big lay at [1.01] for a few grand or backing a [1000.0] shot and hoping for a minor miracle is one way of turning a small stake into a huge win but there's another way, as demonstrated by one racing punter this afternoon betting on the action at Southwell and Lingfield.
Using the amount of money which buys you a couple of pints in a London pub, or more precisely £8, he made enough money, more precisely £12, 215, to buy enough pints to quench the thirst of a small English village. Or pay for an extremely luxurious long Christmas break if that's more his thing.
This punter had a five-fold racing Multiple at odds of [3.85], [4.39], [5.27], [8.77] and [1.95] which came to combined odds of 1,526 and he was probably a little edgy as he cheered on his odds-on shot over the line in the last leg to win a potentially life-changing sum of money.
All of which means that despite the poor weather leading top numerous meetings being abandoned all around the country, it's business as usual on the all-weather and opportunities to make big money from small investments are as plentiful as the snow on our main roads!
