In an otherwise historic year for British golf, the decline of Paul Casey has been a rare downer. Since winning on the Desert Swing in January, Paul has rather lost the plot, failing to contend anywhere and missing four of his last six cuts. Without some signs of improvement, it is hard to imagine Casey matching last year's third place, when he was the only man to throw down any sort of challenge to the runaway winner. In any case, prior to St Andrews, this had never seemed like his favourite major.
