Does Big Al really have the finesse needed for an Open victory?

The longest hitter in Europe, Quiros has quickly become a prolific winner of standard tour events, but is yet to make a serious impact in a major. That is probably because his ultra-attacking, erratic game is better suited to easier courses. Indeed, it is notable that Quiros' best majors effort came when 11th at St Andrews, home to some of the widest fairways in golf. Then again, the same argument could have been used against him before a surprisingly good sixth around narrow Sawgrass.
