Rahane blasted Rajasthan to victory over Kings XI Punjab.
"Rahane, quite rightly, leads the way in the top Rajasthan batsman market"
Rajasthan are looking to make it two wins from two while Kolkata are aiming to get off the mark in Sunday's early IPL match...
Rajasthan
Ajinkya Rahane got Rajasthan off to a blistering start on Friday as the youngster's 98 from 66 balls helped the Royals to post 191. But it was Kevon Cooper, signed for just $50,000 in the 2012 IPL auction, who sealed the deal with four wickets, two catches and a run out on a dream IPL debut. After such a convincing win it's unlikely that Rahul Dravid will contemplate making any changes, although could bring in Shaun Tait to bolster the pace unit.
Kolkata
Kolkata's top order couldn't handle Morne Morkel on Thursday as Jacques Kallis, Gautam Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary were all clean bowled by the South African in a shortened match. Gambhir may be tempted to work Shakib Al Hasan or Ryan ten Doeschate into his XI, but I'd expect KKR to give their misfiring batting line-up an opportunity to redeem themselves.
Venue and pitch conditions
Rajasthan's 191/4 in the first innings at the Sawai Mansigh Stadium on Friday suggests that this year's Jaipur pitch isn't in keeping with last season's relatively low scoring one.
Match Odds
Given the quality in the KKR top order you'd expect them to bounce back on a track that does appear to favour stroke playing. However, with Rahane in such destructive form and the Royals in generally buoyant mood it's hard to ignore them at odds of [2.4]. With home advantage thrown into the mix we'll go for Rajasthan to make it two in a row.
Top Rajasthan Batsman
Rahane, quite rightly, leads the way in the top Rajasthan batsman market at odds of [3.4]. There's no reason to take him on given the way he played on Friday.
Top Kolkata Batsman
Brendon McCullum, Gambhir and Kallis share favouritism at around the [3.5] mark. McCullum looked to be hitting the ball well before falling lbw to Roleof van der Merwe last time out and he gets the nod.
