Royals wedding: Rajasthan's togetherness might be crucial against Delhi on Tuesday
"Johan Botha emerged as a top-order blaster in Rajasthan’s easy win over the Deccan Chargers last week"
Shane Warne and the Rajasthan Royals should condemn Virender Sehwag's Delhi Daredevils to a second straight defeat, says Tobias Gourlay
Rajasthan Royals
Shane Watson is still missing in action for Australia - and probably deserves a mention in despatches - but Johan Botha emerged as a top-order blaster in Rajasthan's easy win over the Deccan Chargers last week.
The IPL is Shane Warne's only remaining stage as a cricketer and each year he has to prove he's not too old. His determination to do this, together with his tactical ingenuity and sound instinct, will favour the Royals, especially against teams with more Indian World Cup winners, whose desire is up for debate.
Delhi Daredevils
Delhi were bowled out for 95 and thrashed in their first match. Weaknesses in the middle order were exposed by the failures of the opening pair, David Warner and Virender Sehwag.
Sehwag does not convince as a captain and is already asking the press for more time to allow his team to gel. Unfortunately, time is not something you get a lot of in the IPL.
Match Odds
Jaipur pitches are usually slow and low. Delhi are the favourites, but Rajasthan have won 8/10 IPL games here. Their seam attack is under-rated, especially Siddharth Trivedi, and the Royals look the better ante-post bet at [2.28].
Highest Six Over Total
Sehwag and Warner have the right approach for a big six-over total. If they have stickability too, Delhi will set off much faster than Rajasthan, one of whose openers is Rahul Dravid.
Best Bet: Back Rajasthan @ [2.28] to beat Delhi
