Shane Warne has a bit of rethinking to do ahead of Rajasthan's match with Kolkata
"Rajasthan have lots of areas in which they can improve – team selection, batting order, getting the right number of fielders inside the circle"
Rajasthan should avoid Friday's mistakes and give Kolkata a much closer game this time, says Tobias Gourlay
Kolkata Knight Riders
Gautam Gambhir and Jacques Kallis put together the second-highest partnership in IPL history when these two met in Jaipur a couple of days ago. They will retain their places and so should the rest of the team.
Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan misused record-breaking Australian hitter Shane Watson last time out, only letting him loose at no. 4 and with more than half of their overs gone. Shane Warne surely will not let that happen again. It is probably time for Amit Paunikar, the wicketkeeper who has been ambling along at less than a run a ball at the top of the order, to drop down.
Warne will also consider picking Shaun Tait this time. IPL's quickest bowler might be the man to break through Kolkata's top order.
Match Odds
Kolkata beat Rajasthan in Jaipur - not many teams do that - and are [1.64] favourites to win again at Eden Gardens.
Rajasthan have lots of areas in which they can improve - team selection, batting order, getting the right number of fielders inside the circle - and the value lies in backing them at [2.52] to give the Knight Riders, who are at the top of their game, a much closer match. But be prepared to lay them off at some stage.
Top Kolkata Batsman
Jacques Kallis has compiled three fifties in three matches for Kolkata so far. He has been the team's top batsman in all three and will go off as favourite to make it 4/4 in this match. Gambhir, who made a 44-ball 75* against the Royals on Friday, is the main opposition.
Best Bet: Back-to-lay Rajasthan Royals @ [2.52] to beat Kolkata Knight Riders
