Mumbai fell at the final hurdle last time
"Delhi usually prosper in the Group stage but they are much weaker this time and their lack of power in the middle order contrasts markedly with Mumbai’s line-up."
Pre-tournament favourites Mumbai take on three-times semi-finalists Delhi in what should be a passionate encounter in the nation's capital.
Delhi
Virender Sehwag and David Warner are a formidable opening partnership, but the rest of the order is more unsettled. One of Travis Birt or Colin Ingram could bolster the middle order and it will be two from three of Andrew McDonald, James Hopes and Roelof van der Merwe in the all-rounder department. Ajit Agarkar and Irfan Pathan provide the seam bowling experience
Mumbai
Sachin Tendulkar will open with aggressive wicket keeper Davy Jacobs, and both Andrew Symonds and Keiron Pollard could feature with Rohit Sharma in a powerful middle order. Lasith Malinga may not be over his World Cup exertions, but fellow Sri Lankan Dilhara Fernando could be called in.
Match Odds
Delhi usually prosper in the Group stage but they are much weaker this time and their lack of power in the middle order contrasts markedly with Mumbai's line-up. The iffy surface here means it could be a low scoring affair, but Mumbai should have too much and are deserved [1.58] favourites.
Opening Partnership
Sehwag and Warner can be destructive but they take a lot of risks and it makes sense to side with Mumbai's steadier pairing of Tendulkar and Jacobs in the Opening Partnership market at [1.9] or better
Best Bet
Andrew Hughes says: Back Mumbai to have the highest opening partnership @ 1.9
