Smith can cut loose on Sunday

"It will be hard for the tourists to turn things around. They will need to bowl much more intelligently, improve markedly in the field and hope that a few of their wild-swinging batsmen connect."

Friday's encounter turned to be a one-sided affair and Andrew Hughes is expecting more of the same when these teams meet again at the Oval on Sunday.

Team news
The obvious tweak to the England line-up would be to rest Tim Bresnan, who took some stick from the West Indian openers on Friday. James Anderson is the straightforward replacement, however, there was some assistance for the slower bowlers at the Oval and the England management may want to have look at one of the young spinners Danny Briggs or Scott Borthwick.

The West Indies don't have much to choose from as they seek to freshen things up for game two. They could give top order batsman Miles Bascombe a try and if left-arm seamer Krishmar Santokie is picked to make his international debut, his angle of bowling could pose the England batsmen some different problems. Slow left-armer Garey Mathurin is the option if they want to play another spinner.

Venue and conditions
Fielding under lights looked tricky for the West Indies, but whether that was down to dew, the dominance of Alex Hales and Craig Kieswetter or their own lacklustre efforts, it is hard to tell. There's a good chance of some rain in South London, but it should only be light stuff and there shouldn't be too much interruption of play.

Match Odds
The only thing that went right for the West Indies in game one was the experimental opening partnership of Dwayne Smith and Johnson Charles, who between them plundered 50 runs in 6 overs and smashed Tim Bresnan out of the attack. After that, England took the pace off the ball and never looked back, with Ravi Bopara, Graeme Swann and Jade Dernbach applying the pressure and the inexperienced West Indian batting crumbling to a total that was at least 30 runs below par.

It will be hard for the tourists to turn things around. They will need to bowl much more intelligently, improve markedly in the field and hope that a few of their wild-swinging batsmen connect. 48 hours isn't quite enough to put all that right and the badly undercooked and outclassed West Indies are unbackable even at [4.8]

Top Batsman
England didn't lose a wicket in game one, as Hales and Kieswetter blazed away to great effect but if we follow the usual T20 practice and stick to the top four, the best batsman in that group is Ravi Bopara. His excellent bowling on Friday means he should be feeling pretty good about life at the moment and he's a good bet to top score at around [5.5]

Dwayne Smith was by far the most impressive of the West Indian batsmen on Friday. His new role as an opener seems to have rejuvenated his batting and given licence to attack he can top score at [5.0] or better.
