"Netherlands have had just two days to recover from their deflating loss against the West Indies and that is hardly ideal preparation for what will be an even stiffer test."
The Netherlands have had little time to recover from their disappointing showing against the West Indies and will have their work cut out against South Africa.
London Start Time: 04:00
Venue and Conditions
The PCA Stadium at Mohali is a flatter track than it used to be and the average score here has been creeping up over the last few years. But it will still offer some pace and bounce and there will be a bit of moisture around according to the forecast. The par score here is around 250 or so.
Team News
After keeping an unchanged line up for their defeat to the West Indies, Netherlands must be tempted to tinker. Spinner Adeel Raja or young quick bowler Bradley Kruger are their most likely options.
South Africa are likely to revert to a more traditional seam-dominated attack at this venue, with either Lonwabo Tsotsobe or Wayne Parnell coming in. Dale Steyn, JP Duminy and Imran Tahir are all expected to recover from minor injuries.
Match Odds
Netherlands have had just two days to recover from their deflating loss against the West Indies and that is hardly ideal preparation for what will be an even stiffer test. South Africa are as strong as ever with the bat and their use of a three-pronged spin attack has given them an extra dimension.
That said, pace bowling is likely to be key in Mohali, which is bad news for the Netherlands who couldn't handle Kemar Roach on Monday. And when you consider the threadbare nature of the Dutch attack, it is difficult to see them coming away from here with anything. They are available at odds of [44.0] but even that isn't too appealing and a third defeat in a row is on the cards for the men in orange.
Top Batsman
Ryan ten Doeschate had a quiet game against the West Indies but you can't keep a good man down and he will be keen to impress against the country of his birth. He can be backed at [3.75]
Any of the top five for South Africa look good, but preference is for the in-form AB De Villiers who scored a century last time and can be backed at [6.0]
Featured Market
In the last 10 matches here, the average number of sixes is 3.2 and it could be worth backing '0-4' in the Total Sixes market at [2.75] or better
Best Bet:
AB De Villiers to top score for South Africa at [6.0]
